GREENSBORO, N.C. — Franklin & Marshall is tied for 24th after the first round of the 2018 NCAA Men's Golf Tournament, held at the Grandover Resort on the par-72, 3,690-yard East Course. Rain halted yesterday's action and the Diplomats finished off round one earlier this morning. F&M will resume round two today at 11:00 a.m. on the West Course. After today's round, the field will be cut down to the top-18 teams.

Guilford College leads after the first round with a 283, while Greensboro's Scott Campbell sits on top of the leaderboard with a five-under 67.

Ben Mitchell finished 54th after carding a three-over 75. Mitchell started out with two birdies on the front nine to turn in a 35, before running into some trouble on the back after play resumed Wednesday morning with a four-over 40. 

Justin Lankler and Steve Nicholas both finished with a five-over 77 and are tied for 87th. Lankler bettered his front-nine 40 with a one-over 37 on the back nine. Nicholas had a one-over to start off the round, before struggling on the first two holes on the back, but finished strong with two birdies to end the round. 

Seiichiro Nakai and Kevin McGloin are tied for 128th after ending with a 79. Nakai and McGloin were consistent throughout the round with a 39 to start off and a 40 on the back.
