ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. — Justin Lankler tied for second to lead Franklin & Marshall to a third-place finish at the Mason-Dixon Classic. The two-day tournament was hosted by McDaniel at the Bridges Golf Club. McDaniel took first at 606 (306-300) followed by St. John Fisher with a 614 (318-296). The Diplomats ended in a tie with Denison at third with rounds of 311 and 305 for a 616 total.
Lankler fired rounds of 74 and 75 for a 149 total and ended in a four-way tie for second. Swarthmore's Dan Altieri took medalist honors at 148.
Seiichiro Nakai tied for 15th with a tournament total of 153 (76-77) on the par-72, 6,713-yard course. Ben Mitchell shaved five strokes off his day one 81 with a 76 today and tied teammate Ian Murray for 27th with a 157. Steve Nicholas had rounds of 86 and 81 and took 60th out of 89 players.
F&M returns to action on Monday, Oct. 9 at the two-day Ted Keller Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon.
