Diplomats Start Spring with McDaniel Invite Championship

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Three Diplomats fired a 154 to deliver Franklin & Marshall the team title at the 2017 McDaniel Spring Invitational. F&M finished with a two-round total 622 at the Bridges Golf Club to take first out of 18 teams over the weekend. Rosemont was second at 625 followed by the host, McDaniel, at 630. 

Stephen Colodny, Brad Lankler and Ben Mitchell all finished with a 154 to finish in an eight-way tie for fourth. Gettysburg's Dane Sethre-Hofstad took first at 150 (77-73).

Colodny and Mitchell were consistent with a 77 on each day. Colodny had two birdies over the weekend while Mitchell recorded three. Lankler had a 76 in the first round and ended today with a 78. Will McMahon placed 30th out of 92 golfers with a 160 (79-81). Jon Meissner scored an 86 on Saturday before shaving off two strokes on Sunday with an 84 on par-72, 6,713-yard course.

F&M returns to action on Sunday when the Diplomats start the two-day Hershey Cup.
