Warner Leads Centennial Field
ELVERSON, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Cameron Warner leads the field midway through the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Golf Championship. Warner shot 112 over Saturday's 27 holes to hold a one-stroke edge on Muhlenberg's Jordan Carpenter and Swarthmore's Paul Weston. As a team, his Diplomats are near the other end of the spectrum.
F&M, defending consecutive championships, is in sixth place in the seven-team field. The Diplomats turned in a four-man score of 321 over the first 18 and 158 on the next nine for a Saturday total of 479, 12 strokes off of first place Muhlenberg at 467. The Mules hold a one stroke lead heading into Sunday's 27 at Stonewall's North Course.
The Diplomats' Jeremy Rubin shot 118 and is in a three-way tie for 12th place. He is the only Diplomat besides Warner in the top 20.
The 54-hole tournament raps up tomorrow. The CC Champion earns an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
