MOOSIC, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team is in eighth place halfway through a tightly contested, 36-hole Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational. The Diplomats foursome of Brendan Mohler, Joe Fucigna, Steve Colalillo and Cameron Warner combined for a 316, leaving F&M eight strokes of first place York with a 308.
Mohler shot a 77 at the par 71 Glenmaura National, leaving him in a four-way tie for 12th place. Mitch Mercer of Susquehanna is in first place, one stroke under par. Fucigna is one stroke behind Mohler and company, also in a four-way tie. Fucigna shot a 39 on both halves Sunday. Steve Colalillo shot a 40-40 to land in a six-way tie for 25th place through 18 holes.
After a rocky first nine in which Cameron Warner shot a 45, the freshman settled in shooting a field-low 35 on the back nine. Elizabethtown's Nick Iacono, in fourth place, also shot 35 on the back nine. Elizabethtown is tied with McDaniel for second place, each posting 310.
The 53 golfers from 12 teams will return to action tomorrow morning.
