LANCASTER, Pa. – For the fourth consecutive year, the Diplomat Athletic Club (DAC) reached new levels of success as contributions totaled $488,383 in the year ending June 30, 2013. DAC was started in 2002 to provide budget enhancement for Franklin & Marshall's Athletic & Recreation Programs.
"I am humbled by the generous support of our alumni, parents and friends of athletics," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Patricia S.W. Epps. "This is an incredible statement from our alumni and families to our current student-athletes and to the Diplomats of the future."
DAC contributions for the 2012-13 fiscal year are an increase of over $24,000 above the 2011-2012 record of $464,099. The year also ended with a record 1,706 donors supporting the Athletic Department.
"We continue to make great strides raising crucial funds to support our student-athletes and our intercollegiate teams," commented Chairman of DAC Al Ingraham '72. "It can truly be said the efforts made by alumni, parents and friends of DAC are the difference makers. We look to the future of DAC with great optimism."
These results do not reflect any capital gifts received during the year. Contributions to the DAC help enhance F&M's Athletic Programs by funding, among other items, uniform purchases, new equipment and training trips.
