Diplomats Compete Day One of Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Franklin & Marshall's men's rowing team competed at the prestigious Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia on Friday. A pair of boats took to the water for the Diplomats at the 80th annual event. Both advanced into the tomorrow's Petite Finals of their respective races.

The duo of Lukas Grattan (2) and Joel Cannon (1) took part in the men's pair without a coxswain event and finished their heat with a time of 7:48.435. SUNY Geneseo won the race at 7:21.262. Tomorrow's Petite Final, which will feature six boats, is set for a 7:30 a.m. start time.

Tamir Shemesh (coxswain), Aidan Molloy (4), Sean Hyland (3), Ben Carroll (2), and Trexler Hirn (1) finished fourth in their heat of the Men's Lightweight 4+ in a time of 7:01.880. Mercyhurst led the way at 6:38.478. Tomorrow, the Diplomats return to the water for the event's Petite Final at 9:45 a.m.
