Varsity 4 Boat Competes at Day One of Knecht Cup

WEST WINDSOR TWP, N.J. – Franklin & Marshall's men's rowing team competed Saturday at day one of the annual Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in West Windsor Township in New Jersey. 

The varsity 4+ boat of Ryan Paulekas (coxswain), James Nelson (4), Sean Hyland (3), Jonathan Munro (2) and Aidan Molloy (1) placed fifth in their heat with a time of 8:04.86, ahead of Susquehanna and St. Mary's. The Diplomats were tenths of a second behind Carnegie Mellon in fourth (8:04.15), which would have qualified them for tomorrow's Grand Final. 

Action continues tomorrow at the final day of the Knecht Cup, where a pair of Varsity 8 boats will compete for the Diplomats around 10:00 a.m. Updated results for day two can be found here.
