LANCASTER, Pa. – Schedules for Franklin & Marshall's spring athletic teams were announced and are available for viewing at GoDiplomats.com. Click on the links above to access each team's 2014 slate of contests.
The Diplomats open their season at home on Saturday, Feb. 28 against Rutgers-Newark at 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference (CC) action begins on Saturday, March 28 when F&M travels to take on McDaniel for a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m.
This season's CC Tournament opens with the first round on Thursday, April 30, while the title game is set for Sunday, May 3.
Men's and Women's Golf
Men's golf begins the spring portion of its schedule by competing in the McDaniel Invitational at the Bridges Golf Course in Abbottstown. The two-day invitational is set for March 28-29. The annual F&M Spring Invite is scheduled for Monday, April 20 at Bent Creek Country Club, while the CC Tournament will run from April 25-27 at the Dupont Country Club in Wilmington, Del.
The women's team opens its spring slate of contests by hosting the F&M Invitational at Overlook Golf Course on Saturday, March 28. The competition is set for a 12:00 p.m. start. This year's CC Championship will take place at the Blue Ridge Golf Club and run from April 25-26.
F&M's season opens against Lynchburg for the second consecutive year, when the Diplomats host the Hornets, who finished 2014 as the nation's No. 10 team, on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 1:00 p.m. The following weekend (Feb. 28), F&M heads to Long Island, N.Y. to take on Ohio Wesleyan at Cold Spring Harbor High School for a 1:00 p.m. game. CC action begins on Saturday, March 21, when Muhlenberg comes to Tylus Field for a 1:00 p.m. showdown.
Defending CC Champion and NCAA Semifinalist Washington College comes to Lancaster on Saturday, March 28 for a 1:00 p.m. game, while the CC Tournament begins on April 29 with the semifinals and concludes on May 2 with the title game.
Fresh off its second straight NCAA Regional Finals appearance, F&M begins its 2015 campaign on the road against Brockport State on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 1:00 p.m. The following Saturday, F&M heads to Brooklandville, Md. to face off against Washington and Lee at St. Paul's School, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Diplomats' first home contest at Tylus Field is slated for Wednesday, Feb. 25 against York at 4:00 p.m., while their opening CC game of the year is set for Saturday, March 21 at Muhlenberg, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The CC Semifinals are set to take place on Saturday, May 2 with the championship slated for Sunday, May 3. The first round of the NCAA Playoffs opens on May 9 and concludes with the NCAA Championship on Saturday, May 23.
Men's and Women's Rowing
F&M's men's and women's rowing teams open the spring portion of their 2015 schedule by competing at the Murphy Cup on Saturday, March 28 in Philadelphia. The Cup marks one of four events the Diplomats will take part in prior to the Mid Atlantic Regional Championships, which are set for Saturday, April 25.
The Diplomats opening doubleheader of the season takes place on the road against Alvernia. Game one is set for Tuesday, March 10 at 3:00 p.m. Following a return to Lancaster after playing eight games in a span of four days at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Cape Coral, Fla., F&M welcomes Washington to Baker Campus Field for its opening CC matchup on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m.
The CC Tournament begins on Friday, May 1, and on Sunday, May 3, the three-day tournament culminates with the title game.
Men's and Women's Tennis
F&M's men's and women's tennis squads start off the spring portion of their schedule on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Christopher Newport for a 12:00 p.m. matchup. The Diplomats return to Lancaster on Friday, March 6 for a 4:00 p.m. showdown with Salisbury at the Brooks Tennis Center.
CC competition is slated to begin on Saturday, March 21, when F&M hosts Muhlenberg at 1:00 p.m. The conference tournament starts on Wednesday, April 29 and concludes on Sunday, May 3 with the CC Finals.
Men's and Women's Track & Field
The outdoor season for F&M's men's and women's track & field teams begins on Saturday, March 21 at the Little Three Meet, hosted by Dickinson. The CC Outdoor Championships are hosted by Muhlenberg and run from May 2-3, while the ECAC Championships take place in Springfield, Mass. on May 14-15.
