LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Rob Anderson has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Co-Player of the Week, announced Monday. The honor is the first of his career and also marks the first time this season a member of the Diplomats' baseball team has been honored.
The senior centerfielder is coming off a red-hot week in which he hit at a staggering .536 clip (15-of-28) over a span of seven games. Anderson collected multiple hits in every contest and has now registered a hit in 11 straight. F&M's leadoff hitter had a .679 slugging and a .581 on-base percentage while also stealing three bases.
In a 7-6 victory over Greenville on Tuesday, Anderson went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and two steals. The Diplomats went 5-4 while on their spring break trip at the RussMatt Central Florida Tournament, improving their overall record to 7-6 on the year.
Gettysburg outfielder Patrick O'Grady also earned co-player of the week honors after hitting .462 in eight games (12-of-26).
F&M returns to the field on Friday when the Diplomats take on St. John Fisher at Diamond Nation, a training complex in Flemington, N.J. The contest in slated for a 2:30 p.m. start.
