Will Producing in Summer League
LANCASTER, Pa. – Matt Will, a rising senior shortstop at
Franklin & Marshall, is spending his summer months playing for
the Lehigh Valley Catz in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
(ACBL). The two-time Centennial Conference First Teamer is
currently hitting .375, which leads the team and ranks second in
the league. Will has started at shortstop and saw playing time a
both second and third base. He currently has a .985 field
percentage and earned a spot on league's All-Star Team.
The ACBL is comprised of 13 teams with three divisions.
The league has a 35 game regular season schedule from the
beginning of June until the end of July. The ACBL is one of
only nine summer leagues in existence across the country that is
supported and sanctioned by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. The
ACBL is a summer wooden bat league and is in its 42nd year of
existence this summer and has produced many current and former
major leagures' including Craig Biggio, Jamie Moyer, Matt
Morris, Rick Cerone, Frank Viola and Pat Kelly. Joe Madden,
the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, is also an ACBL alum.
