LANCASTER, Pa. -- Three members of Franklin & Marshall's baseball team were named to the All-Centennial Conference Team when it was announced Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats (15-19-1) had one player named to the league's First Team, one landed on the Second Team while one was given Honorable Mention. The Centennial's coaches choose the team.
Shortstop Matt Will (Oreland, Pa./Upper Dublin) was named to the First Team for the second year in a row. Will finished seventh in the conference in runs scored (35), second in walks (26) and tied for first with 16 stolen bases. He led the team with a .482 on base percentage, hits (47) and second with 64 total bases. Will finished the 2010 season with a .359 batting average with 36 runs, 11 doubles and two homeruns. In the field, he had .948 fielding percentage with 51 putouts and 114 assists.
Senior third basemen Bill Murray (Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) earned a spot on the Second Team for the second consecutive year. Murray slugged a team best .538, led the team in RBIs (31), doubles (12), total bases (71) and home runs (5). He finished his career in the top-five of many statistical categories in F&M's record book. He ranked sixth in hits (148), fourth in doubles (33), fifth in RBIs (88) and fourth with 10 home runs.
J.T. Triantos (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) earned honorable mention, his first CC postseason award. The sophomore first basemen led the conference in sacrifice bunts with seven and was second in putouts (278). He finished the year hitting .307 with 31 runs scored and 18 batted in.
