LANCASTER, Pa. -- York College’s one-out rally in seventh inning, proved to be the difference as the Spartans defeated Franklin & Marshall 10-5 in non-conference baseball action. York snaps a two game losing skid improving to 25-9 on the season. F&M falls to 18-13-1 on the year.

Leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, the Spartans unloaded five runs securing their victory. F&M found themselves in trouble early in frame when Mike Connolly scored on an error. The Diplomats committed two errors and hit a batter, all leading to runs in the inning. York produced four hits, including a two RBI single by Matt Monti to take 10-4 lead.

The Diplomats came within one run and had a chance of taking the lead in sixth.

The inning started when Nick Rolnick reached on a single down the left field line and advanced to second on Bill Murray's ground out. Rolnick scored two batters later on a throwing error by the shortstop. John Brody’s single plated J.T. Triantos, making the score 5-4 in favor of York. Matt Will walked in the next at bat, loading the bases with two outs. Andrew Hanson flied out to left field ending the inning with runners stranded.

F&M added a run in the bottom of the seventh, bringing the score to 10-5. But were unable to produce any runs the remainder of the game.

Rob Harrington picked up the win for the Spartans improving to 2-0 on this season.

Bill Murray led the way for F&M, going 3-for-5 and scoring a run. Eric Bornstein, Blue Wells, Andrew Hanson and Brody all knocked in a run for the Diplomats.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action Saturday, when they travel to McDaniel for a Centennial Conference doubleheader. Game time is scheduled for 12:30pm.
