LANCASTER, Pa. – Imminent storms halted baseball action Sunday afternoon as Franklin & Marshall and Albright finished in a 16-16 tie in non-conference play.  The Diplomats (10-8-1, 3-1 CC) had mounted a six-run comeback in the bottom of the ninth when the game was called.

The inning started with Matt Valente being hit by a pitch. Matt Will doubled in the next at bat, giving the Diplomats two runners in scoring position. Two batters later, Jay Anderson doubled, plating Valente and Will to make the score 16-12 in favor of Albright (9-9-1).

Bill Murray’s double scored Nick Rolnick and Jay Anderson. Connor Devlin and John Dutton added two more RBIs for the Diplomats, bringing the game to a tie. With runners on second and third and one out, the game was called due to storms moving into the direction of Franklin & Marshall’s campus, ending the game in a 16-16 tie.

Matt Will turned in a great performance at the plate, hitting 4-for-5, scoring four runs and knocking in three RBIs. Matt Rehrig led the way for Albright going 2-for-3 and hitting two RBIs. The teams combined for 31 hits on the day.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action March 31st when they travel to Ursinus for a 3:30 p.m. game.
